Celebrating Success of Summer Soiree Fundraiser
11th annual signature event raises funds and awareness for women’s homeless shelter
IRVINE, Calif. (Sept. 12, 2023) – CREW Orange County, a chapter of the national Commercial Real Estate Women Network, a non-profit organization focused on advancing the success of women in commercial real estate, announced today that nearly 200 professionals from the commercial real estate industry came out to enjoy dining and dancing at the nearly sold-out fundraiser on Thursday, August 17, at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine.
In keeping with this year’s theme, “Whiskey Business,” the evening event provided an opportunity for attendees to participate in whiskey tastings, opportunity drawings and a live auction, a photo booth and line dancing with music by the country band Redneck Rodeo. Proceeds from the signature event will benefit WISEPlace, the only Orange County-based nonprofit to end homelessness for unaccompanied women.
Many local companies participated as sponsors, including SoCal Property Services, Endeavor, LINK Logistics, Bascom, IES Communications, Sperry Commercial, Concrete West, BlueSky Restoration, Sheppard Mullin, Allied Universal, Destination West, DWS, Centrapro and Hattox. Brandon Clements from FQF Advisors, in perfect imitation of Tom Cruise from his breakout role in “Risky Business,” energized the crowd as live auctioneer for the event.
Heather Francine, vice president at Sperry Commercial and chair of the event, said, “This was an entertaining and fun-filled event for everyone, but also poignant as well. The audience had a chance to hear a firsthand testimonial from one of the recent graduates from WISEPlace, who shared her success story about being a single mom and high school dropout to becoming a very motivated individual who has completed their education and is now working full time.”
